Crystal Palace‘s victory over Millwall in Saturday’s London derby in the FA Cup was marred by offensive chanting by a section of the away fans at Selhurst Park.
Millwall supporters were heard shouting ‘let him die’ after Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta was injured by a flying kick to his head from visiting goalkeeper Liam Roberts, who was shown an early red card.
Meanwhile, Palace left back Ben Chilwell, who is currently on loan from Chelsea, was subjected to homophobic abuse.
Cries of ‘Chelsea rent boy’ were aimed at the 28-year-old as he completed his first full 90 minutes since moving to Palace last month.
Mail Sport understands that the Football Association will be investigating the chants aimed at Chilwell.
However, the ‘let him die’ chanting aimed at Mateta will not be probed as it does not breach regulations.

Millwall were reduced to 10 men in the eighth minute after Roberts had injured Mateta with what Palace chairman Steve Parish later described as ‘the most reckless challenge on a football pitch that I think I’ve ever seen’.
A Japhet Tanganga own goal then opened the scoring on 33 minutes before Daniel Munoz doubled the Eagles’ lead.
Wes Harding pulled a goal back for Millwall in the 13th-minute of first-half added time.
But substitute Eddie Nketiah, the man who replaced Mateta following his injury, then wrapped up Palace’s victory late in the second half.
