Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: Mac Allister to Man Utd TRUTH, Arsenal CONFIRMATION, Chelsea DECISION

Football news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided some massive updates on the biggest transfer stories from around Europe, including the latest on Alexis Mac Allister, Victor Valdepenas and Nicolas Jackson.

Igor Tudor begins at Tottenham

Igor Tudor has officially started his duties as the new interim Tottenham boss, and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that a permanent appointment will take place this summer.

He told his YouTube channel: “Igor Tudor has completed his first training session as Tottenham manager in London. So Igor Tudor is ready to take over.

“Remember that Tudor will only stay for a few months and then in the summer Tottenham will appoint a new manager, with Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino among the candidates for the Spurs job.”

David Alaba to leave Real Madrid

Meanwhile, Romano has also confirmed that Real Madrid defender David Alaba will depart the club when his current contract expires in July.

“I want to start with David Alaba because the decision has now been made,” Romano admitted. “David Alaba and Real Madrid will part ways at the end of the season.

“This situation has always been a little unclear, and I told you several times that this was the expectation, but now Real Madrid have been quite clear on this point. The Austrian defender is expected to leave the club after many years in the German league with Bayern Munich and then his move to Real Madrid.

“Alaba is set for a different experience in the summer transfer window, with several options already being explored. The expectation is for him to try something new after a few seasons in Madrid. He has been unlucky with injuries recently and is now ready to assess different possibilities between now and the end of the season, and then ahead of the World Cup.”

Romano added: “Staying with Real Madrid, many of you are asking what is happening with Dani Carvajal and Antonio Rudiger. At the moment, nothing has been communicated or decided.

“These discussions will take place closer to the end of the season and we will see what Real Madrid decide, and what the players decide as well. For now, the clear expectation is that Alaba will go, while we continue to monitor the situations of Carvajal and Rudiger.”

Alexis Mac Allister to Man Utd?

Manchester United have been linked with a shock move for Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, but a deal is far from advanced, as per Romano.

“Now let us move from defenders to midfielders, because many of you have asked me in the last 24 hours about Alexis Mac Allister and Man Utd. It has been a big story in England, with reports suggesting a possibility for Mac Allister to leave Liverpool and join Man Utd in the summer,” the transfer expert said.

“To answer your questions, at the moment I am not aware of anything concrete or strong in terms of links between Man Utd and Mac Allister. I have told you several times that Man Utd will be very busy with midfielders in the summer. It could be one signing, it could be two, so it is an important position.

“However, before Man Utd decide which midfielder or midfielders they want to bring in, they need to clarify two key points. The first is Champions League football or not, because that will be crucial to understand the available budget. The second is the manager. We have to see what happens with Michael Carrick or whether the club appoints a different permanent manager.

“So Man Utd will not make a decision in February about their midfield targets. They have a shortlist with several names being considered and monitored. I have already told you, for example, that Elliot Anderson is appreciated. I also mentioned that Carlos Baleba was a top target with Ruben Amorim as coach, and we have to see what happens now that Amorim is no longer there. I told you as well that Sandro Tonali is appreciated by Man Utd, Arsenal and Juventus. There will be movement around these players.

“But before we know who Man Utd truly want, we need to be patient. As things stand, there is nothing advanced or concrete with Mac Allister. I expect many links with midfielders because United will be very busy in that position, especially with the decision to part ways with Casemiro at the end of the season.”

Marc Casado attracting Premier League interest

Man Utd have also been linked with Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado and Romano has revealed that he could depart Camp Nou this summer.

“Another midfielder to watch in the summer transfer window is Marc Casado. He already had the possibility to leave in January, but both the player and Barcelona decided not to proceed,” Romano said.

“However, there was genuine interest and that interest remains, especially from the Premier League.

“I expect clubs to approach Barcelona and the player’s new agent, Jorge Mendes, in the summer. Then it will be up to Casado to decide what he wants to do and up to Barcelona to decide their position. There is strong interest from England, but the final decision will belong to the club and the player.”

Arsenal want Victor Valdepenas

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid wonderkid Victor Valdepenas in recent months and Romano has confirmed that he is on their radar.

“Let us move to young talented players and go back to Madrid. Victor Valdepenas, a 19-year-old defender from Real Madrid, is attracting significant interest. I told you in October, and I repeat it now, that he is on the list at Arsenal and is being closely monitored,” Romano clarified.

“Arsenal are following his situation carefully to understand whether an exit could be possible in the summer transfer window. There is also genuine interest from AC Milan. Milan are keen and are monitoring the player as well. So we have interest from both the Premier League and Serie A.

“In this case, nothing has been decided yet. It is still early and Real Madrid will need to make a decision in the coming months. We also have to see the managerial situation at the club and what direction they want to take. But for sure, Arsenal have been tracking him since October, and now Milan are also in the race. It is shaping up to be a busy situation around Valdepenas.”

Nicolas Jackson summer decision

Finally, Nicolas Jackson is expected to return to Chelsea when his loan spell at Bayern Munich ends this summer, but he is then set to be offloaded again by the Blues.

That is according to Romano, who said: “Many of you are asking about Nicolas Jackson. I will be clearer on this situation in the next few weeks, but what I can tell you today is that my expectation for the summer remains for Jackson to find a different solution rather than staying at Chelsea.

“It is true that Enzo Maresca has gone and a new manager could bring a new situation for Jackson, so that is a possibility. However, as of today, my understanding is that the preference is to explore options on the market rather than commit 100% to staying.

“We will see what opportunities emerge, but remember that Chelsea have already signed a striker for the summer in Emmanuel Emegha from Strasbourg, a player with a similar skill set to Jackson, and this is why the current expectation is that he will look for a move elsewhere.”
