A remarkable managerial shake-up continues across Europe, with Fabrizio Romano detailing multiple high-profile departures and new appointments developing alongside major player updates.
Sean Dyche out at Nottingham Forest as Vitor Pereira emerges
Sean Dyche is the latest top-flight manager to lose his job, with Romano providing the latest on YouTube.
“Sean Dyche has been dismissed by Nottingham Forest, adding to what has already been a chaotic year for managerial changes,” he said.
“The clear favourite to replace him is Vitor Pereira, currently under contract at Wolves, after impressing with his work last season.
“Pereira has already said yes to the opportunity, and discussions are ongoing between the clubs to finalise the timing and contractual situation before he becomes the new head coach.”
Tottenham consider Roberto De Zerbi and monitor Mauricio Pochettino
Earlier in the week, there had been a change at Tottenham.
“The Tottenham job is now available following the dismissal of Thomas Frank, and there are two key names to clarify,” Romano said.
“Roberto De Zerbi is highly appreciated internally and would be open to returning to Premier League football.
“However, De Zerbi is not a coach who rushes into decisions. He wants clarity on the project, long-term vision and structure before accepting any role.
“Tottenham’s interest is confirmed, but De Zerbi is assessing the wider market as more positions could open up across Europe between now and the summer.
“Regarding Mauricio Pochettino, the current position is complicated because the US Federation do not want to lose him only months before the World Cup.
“A summer appointment could only become realistic depending on Tottenham’s strategy, especially if they choose an interim solution until after the tournament.”
Thomas Tuchel signs new England contract
One man who will not be taking up a new post – including that at Manchester United, to which he had been linked – is Thomas Tuchel.
“Thomas Tuchel has signed a new contract with the FA, extending his stay as England head coach until summer 2028,” Romano said.
“Tuchel has built a strong relationship with the squad, the leadership group and the federation, delivering excellent results so far.
“There was genuine appreciation from Manchester United, particularly from figures within Ineos, but Tuchel was always fully focused on the World Cup and never in advanced talks.
“With this new agreement signed, that chapter is closed for now.”
Raheem Sterling joins Feyenoord on short-term deal
One of the most surprising deals of the year is set to see Raheem Sterling move to the Eredivisie.
Romano commented: “Here we go for Raheem Sterling, who has completed a move to Feyenoord after terminating his contract with Chelsea by mutual agreement.
“Sterling received more than 10 approaches from clubs across Europe, including sides in England and Italy, but he has chosen the Dutch project.
“The deal runs until June 2026, with a short-term structure and the possibility to discuss a longer stay in the summer.
“Sterling is travelling to Rotterdam for medical tests and formal signing, but the pre-contract agreement is already completed.”
Darwin Nunez out of Al-Hilal Saudi Pro League squad
Big news from the Saudi Pro League, where former Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez suddenly finds himself out in the cold.
“An important update from Saudi Arabia concerns Darwin Nunez, who is now excluded from the Al-Hilal squad for the remainder of the Saudi Pro League season,” Romano said.
“Following the arrival of Karim Benzema and squad registration decisions involving Marcos Leonardo, there is no space for Nunez in the domestic list.
“He will only be eligible to feature in the Asian Champions League until the end of the campaign.
“In January, reports linking him to Fenerbahce were not concrete, and the player chose to stay, but the summer window could now present a different scenario.”
Kalidou Koulibaly signs new Al-Hilal deal
Former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly will sign a new deal with the Saudi side.
Romano said: “Another key update at Al-Hilal is that Koulibaly has signed a new contract, reinforcing the squad under Simone Inzaghi.
“This follows other important renewals at the club and confirms the intention to maintain a strong core moving forward.
“The coming months will be crucial both for the managerial market and for players such as Darwin Nunez, as several situations remain open ahead of what promises to be another very busy summer.”
