Fabrizio Romano transfer news: Rashford EXIT, Bayern’s Mudryk BID, Wirtz deal CLOSE

Fabrizio Romano has revealed all the latest updates from the world of football transfer news, including the possible exit of Marcus Rashford from Man Utd, Mykhailo Mudryk’s failed doping test, new contracts for Harry Maguire and Florian Wirtz, and a new Real Madrid signing.

Marcus Rashford to leave Man Utd in 2025?

Romano has confirmed that there is a big chance that Marcus Rashford leaves Man Utd in 2025 following the attacker’s controversial interview with Henry Winter in which he said he was ready for a new challenge.

“Now we are at a crucial point with Marcus Rashford,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“Because first Rashford was not even on the bench for the Manchester derby on Sunday.

“The only reason Rashford (like Garnacho) was not chosen was because of (poor) training, attitude and performance. This is the view of Ruben Amorim and all coaching staff. This is what Ruben Amorim didn’t like with Rashford and Garnacho.

“Then, Rashford released (on Tuesday) a very strong interview with Henry Winter where Rashford says very clearly that he is ready for ‘new challenge, new step’.

“It looks like Rashford is opening the doors to a Man Utd exit and what I can say is that on the club’s side, they are feeling exactly the same.

“Man Utd feel that in 2025 – in January or the summer – depending on proposals, it could be time to part ways with Marcus Rashford.

“At the moment, Utd have not received any formal bid or approach.

“The dream of Rashford is to play in Spain one day.

“In Saudi Arabia they are very attentive to this sort of situation; talented player, big potential, big star with a potential exit from the club, so they are very attentive.

“There is a concrete possibility to see Rashford leave Man Utd in 2025.”

The big European club that tried to sign Mudryk

Romano has revealed which big European club tried to sign Mykhailo Mudryk a year ago and the latest news following the winger’s failed doping test.

“Mudryk tested positive in the A Sample for an anti-doping test he had with the Ukraine national team,” Romano said.

“Mudryk currently has a provisional ban from the English FA so he can’t play football with Ukraine or Chelsea. He can’t train or travel with Chelsea.

“Mudryk has hired some very important lawyers. He has already said in public with a statement that he never took anything on purpose. So Mudryk will now be working on trying to make people understand what really happened.

“The message from Chelsea in public and private is very clear; supporting the boy and the player.

“He is a very shy guy and serious guy, a hard worker, so Chelsea want to show full support.

“Also to show how much Chelsea trust Mudryk, a story has come out how one of Europe’s biggest clubs wanted to sign Mudryk one year ago in January on loan with an option.

“The club that wanted to sign Mudryk in the final 48 hours of the January 2024 window was Bayern Munich, when Thomas Tuchel was the manager.

“Bayern wanted a winger and Mudryk was a priority target but Chelsea said no because they wanted to keep the player at the club. So now Chelsea is supporting the player.”

Real Madrid sign youngster

Romano has confirmed that Real Madrid are signing Leganes youngster Lamine Fati.

“Real Madcrid are signing Lamine Fati, a talented centre back from Leganes. He is 18. He will cost €100,000 and will join the academy, the Juvenil team of Real Madrid.

“Real Madrid believe he can have a future in the first team.”

Harry Maguire contract talks

Romano says that Harry Maguire is in talks with Man Utd over extending his contract that expires in 2025.

“Harry Maguire confirmed that he is in talks with Man Utd about his contract situation.

“The coaching staff of Ruben Amorim believes that Maguire could be a perfect fit in a back three.

“They also need to see the financial situation to see what is possible. Remember his contract expires in 2025 and that United have an option to extend it for one more season.

“The conversation is ongoing between Maguire and Man Utd.

Florian Wirtz set to extend

Romano has revealed that Florian Wirtz is in advanced talks to extend his Bayer Leverkusen contract and stay for at least one more season.

“In the last few months we have seen many links about Florian Wirtz, saying that he was going to this club and that club.

“But now Florian Wirtz is close to extending his contract with Bayer Leverkusen. The agreement is very, very close. They are still working on some details but the agreement would see Wirtz stay at Leverkusen until at least the World Cup in 2026.

“So Wirtz is very close to staying one more season at Leverkusen.”
