Facundo Pellistri awaiting permission to travel to Granada TODAY after loan deal is agreed with Man United… with the Spanish side willing to make move permanent in the summer

Facundo Pellistri is awaiting permission to travel to Granada today after the Spanish side agreed a loan deal with Manchester United.

As Mail Sport reported on Monday, a loan agreement between the clubs was reached on Monday but Pellistri was awaiting the go-ahead from manager Erik ten Hag.

The 22-year-old has wanted the Granada move so that he can link up with coach and fellow Uruguayan Alexander Medina but Ten Hag has been wanting to ensure he has cover in the shape of young wingers Amad Diallo and Omari Forson, who have been the subject of interest from other clubs too.

Granada are willing to make the move a permanent one in the summer if all goes well.

Pellistri was still in Manchester as of midday Tuesday as he awaited clearance from the club to board a plane.

A flight has been scheduled for 3pm in readiness and some of his representatives are already in Spain preparing to meet him.

Pellistri has made 14 outings for United this season but has mostly been limited to coming off the bench.

United signed him as an 18-year-old from Uruguayan side Penarol for £10m in 2020.

He signed a five-year deal but has since struggled to make a permanent impression on the first team.

Pellistri has already completed a couple of loan spells in Spain with Deportivo Alaves in previous seasons.
