Fantasy Bundesliga tips: 10 players to consider for Matchday 20

Here are 10 players you should consider bringing into your Fantasy Bundesliga team for Matchday 20.

In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious picks such as Jeremie Frimpong and Harry Kane.

Instead, we will highlight players with a maximum ownership percentage of 20%, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 20.

Silvan Widmer, Mainz (Defender, 6.7M, 0%)
Playing in an attacking wing-back role, the Mainz captain scored against Wolfsburg in Mainz’s first game of the year and came close to netting in last week’s 1-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt. Die Nullfünfer have struggled to find the back of the net, but have been fairly solid at the back, conceding an average of less than a goal per game in their last seven league matches.

Niels Nkounkou, Eintracht Frankfurt (Defender, 9.8M, 16%)
Nkounkou has scored double figures in four consecutive games and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t continue that run when Eintracht face a struggling Köln side this weekend.

Raphael Guerreiro, Bayern (Defender, 12.9M, 6%)
Guerreiro has been rather disappointing fantasy wise in recent weeks, but it’s worth noting that he scored in the postponed game against Union Berlin last week. With the Portugal international on sale, expected to play out of position in central midfield and likely on set pieces with Kimmich out, he’s too good to pass up this week.

Ruben Vargas, Augsburg (Midfielder, 7.7M, 0%)
Vargas has been installed in an attacking role, which seems to have benefited him fantasy wise, with the Swiss attacker scoring 19 points in his last two games against Gladbach and Bayern. Augsburg travel to Bochum this week and there should be points up for grabs in what should be a close game with plenty of chances at both ends.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Dortmund (Midfielder, 7.8M, 5%)
With Julian Brandt, Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus all set to miss out on Friday, the way should be clear for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens to start on the wing against Heidenheim. If he’s having a good game, the youngster can be a real difference-maker, and his price tag is quite low for what he can offer.

Kevin Stöger, Bochum (Midfielder, 11.2M, 18%)
Stöger has been Bochum’s Mr. Reliable this season, especially at home, where he’s scored double digits in all but one game so far.

Dani Olmo, RB Leipzig (Midfielder, 13.7M, 9%)
Last week’s 5-2 defeat at the hands of Stuttgart was a game to forget for Leipzig, who will be looking to bounce back against Union Berlin at home this weekend. Olmo only managed one point this week, but with Xavi Simons back from suspension to combine with, the Spaniard should do much better this weekend.

Justin Njinmah, Werder Bremen (Striker, 3.5M, 2%)
One of the Bundesliga’s revelations this season, Njinmah offers a lot of potential at a low price. Freiburg found him impossible to control last week, and Mainz are likely to struggle with him as well.

Patrik Schick, Bayer Leverkusen (Striker, 11.7M, 14%)
Schick has had a disappointing start to the year, failing to find the net in Leverkusen’s first three games in 2024, but he won’t get a better chance to get back on the scoresheet than this weekend’s game against a leaky Darmstadt side. There have been suggestions that Schick could be rested and that new signing Borja Iglesias could play in his place, but that would be a surprise, both because Leverkusen will want him to gain confidence for the games ahead and because he’s important to the way Die Werkself play.

Niclas Füllkrug, Dortmund (Striker, 16.5M, 7%)
Füllkrug was one of the big difference-makers last week, scoring a hat-trick in Dortmund’s 3-1 win over Bochum. That performance should give him confidence going into Friday’s game against a Heidenheim side that rarely keep a clean sheet.
