Here are 10 players you should consider bringing into your Fantasy Bundesliga team for Matchday 29.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious picks such as Jeremie Frimpong and Harry Kane.
Instead, we will highlight players with a maximum ownership percentage of 20%, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 29.
Pavel Kaderabek, Hoffenheim (Defender, 7M, 0%)
A classic Fantasy Bundesliga favorite, Pavel Kaderabek hasn’t had the best of seasons, but he showed what he’s capable of last week, scoring a whopping 19 points in Hoffenheim’s win over Augsburg. He will be looking for a similar display in what is likely to be a close and hard-fought match against Mainz.
Christian Günter, Freiburg (Defender, 10.2M, 1%)
From one Fantasy Bundesliga darling to another, Christian Günter has spent much of the season on the sidelines, but he’s been back for a few weeks now. Günter has been far from his old Fantasy self, but he did pick up an assist in Freiburg’s loss to RB Leipzig last week. And with Freiburg having one of the best schedules for the rest of the season starting with an away game against bottom side Darmstadt, it looks like a good time to pick up the Freiburg captain.
Niels Nkounkou, Eintracht Frankfurt (Defender, 10.3M, 5%)
With Nkounkou having been benched twice in a row and Frankfurt facing a tough away game against Stuttgart, it might seem like an odd time to bring him in. However, the left-back has been generally impressive this season with three goals and three assists to his name and is being tipped to play out of position on the left wing, which would increase his attacking threat.
Brajan Gruda, Mainz (Midfielder, 2.7M, 3%)
Playing in an attacking role, the Mainz youth prodigy scored an impressive 14 points in a crushing 4-0 win over Darmstadt last week. Costing just 2.7 million, he will be looking to build on that performance with an appealing run of games against Hoffenheim, Freiburg, Köln and Heidenheim coming up.
Merlin Röhl, Freiburg (Midfielder, 3.2M, 2%)
Freiburg will be looking to put last week’s 4-1 loss to Leipzig behind them as they head into a nice run of games. Germany U21 international Merlin Röhl is expected to start in an attacking midfield role against Darmstadt and showed what he can do a few weeks ago when he scored a great goal and picked up 15 points against Gladbach.
Vincenzo Grifo, Freiburg (Midfielder, 17.6M, 2%)
If you’re not afraid to spend a fortune on a Freiburg midfielder, Grifo is the guy for you. The winger has been benched twice in a row, but looks set to start against Darmstadt after playing well and scoring off the bench against Leipzig. The 31-year-old is responsible for all the set pieces for Christian Streich’s side and has shown just how high his ceiling is on so many occasions in the past.
Julian Brandt, Dortmund (Midfielder, 18.7M, 8%)
Brandt helped change Dortmund’s midweek game against Atletico after coming on at half-time and came agonizingly close to scoring, as his header hit the woodwork in stoppage time. Saturday’s clash with a leaky Gladbach side should be another good opportunity to do well for the attacking midfielder.
Jonathan Burkardt, Mainz (Striker, 5.2M, 2%)
Disappointingly, Burkardt only managed 7 points in Mainz’s 4-0 win over Darmstadt last week, with three of those points coming from an assist. Nevertheless, being Mainz’s penalty taker and playing in a lone striker role, the 23-year-old remains an excellent option for the price, especially as ‘Die Nullfünfer’ have a manageable schedule.
Deniz Undav, Stuttgart (Striker, 12.5M, 15%)
Wasn’t at his best last week, but remains a great alternative to his higher-owned teammate Serhou Guirassy.
Victor Boniface, Leverkusen (Striker, 15.2M, 2%)
Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso said on Wednesday that Boniface is ready to start again after recovering from an injury. If Schick plays up front against West Ham on Thursday, he is likely to be rested against Werder, giving Boniface a chance to start.
