FC Augsburg have extended the contract of Daniel Klein until the summer of 2026, the club can report.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper’s contract was due to expire after the current 2024-25 campaign ends.

Klein, who is yet to make a senior appearance for Die Fuggerstadters but has been part of the first team squad, joined from TSG Hoffenheim in 2022.

Last season, the young shot-stopper spent the year on loan at 3.Liga side SV Sandhausen.

“Daniel is an important part of our goalkeeping team this season,” said sporting director Marinko Jurendic.

“With his contract extension, we remain well positioned in the third goalkeeper position and look forward to continuing our collaboration,” he added.
