Shortly before kickoff in the Sunday afternoon fixture that sent them to the top of the Bundesliga table, 1. FC Heidenheim confirmed contract extensions for two of the players in the starting lineup.

Two of the players in Heidenheim’s starting XI on Sunday afternoon received contract extensions just prior to kickoff against Augsburg at the Voith Arena. Midfielder Adrian Beck and defender Benedikt Timber both extended their current working papers through 2028. As it turned out, Beck ended up commemorating his new deal with his second ever Bundesliga goal in the 4-0 victory.

Beck joined Heidenheim from Swabian Alb neighbors SSV Ulm 1846 in 2022. In helping the FCH achieve promotion, he scored three goals in 18 2. Bundesliga appearances. His first ever top flight goal came against Köln on match-day 17 of last year’s inaugural Bundesliga season. The 27-year-old also scored twice in the Pokal for a total of three goals in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Gimber joined the Albogen club ahead of last year’s top flight campaign from SSV Jahn Regensburg. The 2. Bundesliga veteran and former Regensburg captain scored his first-ever Bundesliga goal against Leipzig on matchday 13. In total, the Buchen-native scored one goal and registered one assist in 25 appearances across all competitions.

“The past two years at FCH have been absolutely amazing,” Beck noted in a club statement, “I’m grateful that I’ve been able to experience this as a footballer and that I’ve been given the confidence to continue playing for this special club in the coming years.”

“FCH is a family club with great solidarity, characterized by an irrepressible ambition to keep developing,” Gimber added, “I can identify with this one hundred percent and am thus extra pleased to be part of FCH in the coming years.”
