Francesco Totti is the only U21 Roma player to have started three consecutive Serie A games in the last 30 years, but his record is expected to be matched by Evan Ferguson this weekend.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Republic of Ireland international Ferguson is expected to match a record belonging to Francesco Totti this weekend.

The Rome-based paper reports that Totti is the only U21 Roma player to have started three consecutive Serie A matches in the last 30 years.

However, the Brighton loanee will likely equal the Italy and Giallorossi legend on Sunday, when Roma host Torino at the Stadio Olimpico.

Ferguson already started against Bologna and Pisa, providing an assist in a 1-0 win under the leaning tower before the international break.

Ferguson also scored two goals in two games during the international break, and currently, Gian Piero Gasperini sees him as the undisputed Roma starter in attack.

Ferguson joined Roma on an initial loan deal from Brighton this summer.

The Giallorossi have an option to make the striker’s move permanent for circa €40m at the end of the season.
