Fire at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium causes chaos ahead of Champions League final day

The alarm went off in the vicinity of the Etihad Stadium in Manchester before the Champions League match between City and Brugge. A decisive match… with a scare beforehand. An explosion occurred outside the Manchester team’s stadium and a fire broke out. Fortunately, Manchester City itself has communicated that the situation is now under control.

Local media reports that the match will start at 21:00, as planned. There will be no changes or incidents.

This was communicated by Manchester City:

“Manchester City FC can confirm that a fire has broken out in one of the external merchandise kiosks, located near the entrance to the Colin Bell West Stand. Emergency services are present at the scene and the fire has now been extinguished.

The safety of all those attending tonight’s match is our priority and therefore all planned events for the reception in the West Stand have been cancelled, including the welcome event for new players and the arrival of the first team.Omar Marmoush was expected to be presented to the fans before the match, but this will not happen.
