Manchester United are enduring a disastrous 2023-24 season, having made the worst start to a campaign in over 30 years.
They are well off the pace at the top of the Premier League, already out of the League Cup and they risk being eliminated from the Champions League group stages.
Manager Erik ten Hag is at the risk of the sack, while a host of players are under fire.

As a result, there are a number of players who could move on in January. We take a look at five possible departures.
Jadon Sancho (Man Utd)
Jadon Sancho is certain to leave Man Utd in January, at the very least on loan, after a public fall-out with Ten Hag.
Ten Hag left Sancho out of his 18-man squad for the Premier League match against Arsenal in September, and said he wasn’t picked because of his poor performance in training. This prompted an angry reaction from Sancho immediately after on social media as he denied Ten Hag’s accusations and essentially called him a liar.
Sancho has since been frozen out of the first team, forced to train away from the squad and even deleted from the club WhatsApp group. Former club Borussia Dortmund and some Italian teams have been linked with a move in January.
Donny van de Beek (Man Utd)
Man Utd outcast Donny van de Beek is “very likely” to leave the club in January, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Van de Beek was transfer listed during the summer transfer window but failed to secure a move away, despite strong interest from Real Sociedad.
But the attacking midfielder will almost certainly leave in the January transfer window having been left surplus to requirements.
This season, Van de Beek has played just two minutes of football in the Premier League.
He will find himself a new club in January, also with a view for Euro 2024 next summer.
Amad Diallo
Man Utd will not offload Amad Diallo on a permanent deal in January, but they may sanction another loan move following the success of his season at Championship side Sunderland last term.
The Ivorian netted 13 league goals for Tony Mowbray’s side as they reached the play-off semi-finals before succumbing to eventual winners Luton Town.
A knee injury means he hasn’t played at all so far this season and United may feel a loan move will do him good to work his way back into form ahead of 2024-25.
His former club Atalanta have been attributed with interest.
Casemiro
A more unlikely departure but not completely impossible is that of Casemiro.
Outstanding in his first season at Man Utd, the 31-year-old has found the going more difficult in his second campaign, despite holding down a place as a regular when available under Ten Hag.
This has led to questions over whether the player is past it.
There have been widespread reports of interest from Saudi Arabia, with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo hoping to convince the Brazilian to join him there.
Antony
There is no chance that Man Utd will be able to sell Antony in January given they paid €100m for him from Ajax just over a year ago.
But a six-month loan move away in order to give him the space and serenity to rebuild his confidence and transfer value could be the best choice for Man Utd.
He has been increasingly linked with a move away from United in recent days having endured a disastrous season so far with no goals or assists, as well as off-the-field problems.
