Nico Williams (Athletic Club)

Arsenal wanted to sign Nico Williams during the 2024 summer transfer window and after failing to reach an agreement for the Spain star, they will attempt a deal yet again this year.

FootballTransfers understands that a move to the Emirates Stadium is on the cards, although Arsenal will need to convince Williams to leave his beloved Athletic Club in order to finalise a transfer.

Barcelona are also keeping tabs on his situation, while a host of teams across Europe are likely to pursue a deal if he decides to move clubs this summer.

Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad)

Real Madrid are hoping to hijack Arsenal’s deal for Martin Zubimendi, but the Real Sociedad star is still expected to move to north London following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign.

Arsenal are set to lose both Thomas Partey and Jorginho on free transfers, and they have identified Zubimendi as their dream midfield target as a result.

FootballTransfers understands Arsenal are close to reaching an agreement with the Spain international as they prepare to bring him to the club.

Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting CP)

Arsenal are scrambling to add a prolific centre-forward to their squad this summer and have identified Viktor Gyokeres as their top target for the position.

New sporting director Andrea Berta is prioritising a move for the Swede over other targets, and FootballTransfers understands that significant progress is being made in the Gunners’ pursuit of him.

Sporting CP are expected to demand around €70 million for him this summer, and Arsenal are the clear favourites to sign him as things stand.

Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig)

RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko was Arsenal’s top target last year, but he has had to cede that place to Gyokeres since Berta’s appointment as sporting director.

Should Arsenal, for whatever reason, miss out on Gyokeres, they would look to fall back on Sesko, who was impressed with the Gunners’ project but ultimately opted ot stay in Germany for another year.

Since Berta’s arrival, Arsenal have developed some reservations about Sesko, however. Compared to Gyokeres, he is still relatively unproven and doesn’t boast anywhere near as good a goal record. Moreover, his release clause has risen to over €80m over the course of the season.

Joan Garcia (Espanyol)

David Raya is the undisputed number one goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium, but the Gunners are looking to sign a back-up option this summer, with Neto set to return to Bournemouth following his loan spell in north London.

Espanyol star Joan Garcia has been identified as Arsenal’s first choice candidate, with the club aiming to complete a deal after narrowly missing out on his signature in 2024.

However, they will face significant competition for the Spaniard amid reported interest from Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.
