On Saturday, Bayer Leverkusen not only fell to defeat against TSG Hoffenheim, but it appears they also lost Mark Flekken.

The goalkeeper sustained an injury and had to be substituted in the 60th-minute with a ligament injury in his knee.

Sky Germany understands that the Netherlands shot-stopper could be sidelined for up to two months – a return in March has been outlined.

For the time being, Janis Blaswich is set to be given a chance. However, Leverkusen are also looking at the market.

“We have complete confidence in Janis (…) But I can’t rule out that we might do something,” said the club’s managing director of sport, Simon Rolfes.

The Rhinelanders’ boss was clearly hinting at exploring the market for the remainder of January to assess their options.
