Napoli-owned midfielder Michael Folorunsho tops Cagliari’s midfield shortlist and while the Sardinians are also interested in Tommaso Pobega, Bologna have a slight advantage with favourable transfer conditions.

Italy international Folorunsho is the primary name on Cagliari’s transfer shortlist, sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell me.

The Rossoblu have promoted Fabio Pisacane from the Primavera team to the senior squad after sacking Davide Nicola.

Talks between Cagliari and Napoli, where Folorunsho has returned after a six-month loan spell at Fiorentina, have already begun.

Cagliari have also targeted Milan midfielder Pobega, but his former club, Bologna, have favourable conditions to re-sign the Italian midfielder as they believe Milan will lower their initial request for a permanent transfer, for which Bologna didn’t activate an option in June.
