Former Bayern Munich player Paul Wanner has decided to represent Austria instead of Germany at senior international level, according to TZ.
The 20-year-old has played for Germany at various youth levels, but has now reportedly chosen to switch allegiance to Austria ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
A product of the FC Bayern Munich academy, Wanner spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Heidenheim before being sold to PSV Eindhoven for a reported €15 million last summer.
After taking some time to settle in, Wanner has established himself as a regular starter at the Dutch club, scoring three goals in 17 appearances so far.
