Former Manchester United star Ravel Morrison has admitted fraud after parking using a dead person’s blue badge.
Manchester magistrates were told Morrison used the badge in May when parking his Audi S3 on Bridgewater Street.
The 30-year-old, who began his career as a promising youngster with United but moved to West Ham in 2012 and also had spells at Birmingham, QPR and Derby, said he bought it for £50 from ‘someone in Old Trafford’. He pleaded guilty and was fined £1,000.
It was discovered that the badge, given to people with limited mobility so they can park closer to their destination, was not valid as the registered holder had died last year.
Police impounded the vehicle, which Morrison reclaimed later that day. Manchester City Council said the ruling showed the law was ‘applicable to everyone, with no exceptions’.

The attacking midfielder, who is now at US club DC United but is not in their current match-playing squad, must also pay £508 in costs and a victim surcharge of £400.
Morrison was described by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson as having ‘as much natural talent as any youngster we ever signed’ and capped by England up to Under 21 level. But he had a chequered time off the field at United and admitted two counts of witness intimidation in 2011.
A year later he left the club having made just three senior appearances and Ferguson later said: ‘The boy had a good heart. He was just beaten by his background.’
