The first two are Bayern Munich duo Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry, both of whom are potentially available for transfer.

Next up is Barcelona winger Raphinha, who has been a long-term target for Arsenal with Arteta trying to sign him when he left Leeds for the Blaugrana.

The final possible option is Juventus’ Federico Chiesa, who is transfer listed and has been frozen out of the squad at Turin.

Arsenal need to sell before signing a winger

The Athletic adds that Arsenal are open to improving their wide attacking options but that they must first sell Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson before they can bring someone else in.

Arsenal have already allocated funds to sign Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.

The Euro 2024 star is expected to move to the Gunners before the end of the month.

Merino has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal, and just a transfer fee needs to be sorted.

Arsenal have only signed two players this window, bringing in Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for €50m and making David Raya’s loan permanent from Brentford.

Arsenal began the 2024-25 season in style by beating Wolves 2-0 on Saturday, with goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka.
