Four Serie A players have been called up to represent the Netherlands in their two-legged Nations League quarter-final against Spain coming up in the March international break.

Both of Inter’s Dutch defensive duo – Denzel Dumfries and Stefan De Vrij – have been called up. The wing-back could be set to earn his 64th international cap, while his teammate could gain his 74th.

Milan are also represented in the Netherlands squad in the form of Tijjani Reijnders, who started in five out of six Nations League group stage matches earlier in the campaign, and only missed out on the final game once the Netherlands had already qualified for the knock-outs.

Juventus’s Teun Koopmeiners has also kept his spot in the squad, despite a poor run of individual and collective form at club level.

The Netherlands will host Spain at De Kuip in Rotterdam on March 20 and will play the return leg at the Mestalla in Valencia a few days later on March 23 before the return of Serie A action on March 29.

The winners will compete in an end-of-season tournament in June, which will include the semi-finals and final. The winner of the Netherlands-Spain tie will face either Croatia or France in the semi.

Italy are on the other side of the draw. They will play Germany in the quarters and the winner will go on to play either Portugal or Denmark in the semi-final.
