Füllkrug completes AC Milan medical ahead of loan move

The German international will spend the second half of the season in Milan.

Niclas Füllkrug has successfully completed his medical examination with AC Milan ahead of a potential loan move in January. The German international is unable to score for West Ham this season after an equally uninspiring debut campaign last term with the Premier League side.

According to Sky’s Patrick Berger, Milan will announce the deal after Christmas. The Serie A giants will have a €5 million purchase option at the end of the season. The former Borussia Dortmund striker will wear the number 9 at his new club.

Füllkrug joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund after helping Dortmund reach the Champions League final in the 2023-24 season. A season earlier, he was Bundesliga’s joint top-scorer as a Werder Bremen player alongside his future teammate, Christopher Nkunku.

Füllkrug scored two goals for Germany in the home championship at Euro 2024. The switch could help his chances of making Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the World Cup. Massimiliano Allegri’s team currently sit second in the Serie A table, trailing city rivals Inter by a single point.
