Timothy Weah’s agent, Badou Sambague, insists ‘nobody’ will push his client out of Juventus: ‘This is a shame.’

The American winger was left out of the Juventus squad alongside Samuel Mbangula for a Club World Cup game against Manchester City on Thursday.

Weah and Mbangula are reportedly unwilling to join Nottingham Forest in a deal that would allow Juventus to earn over €23m, plus add-ons.

The Juventus pair was fit to play against Manchester City, so the club’s decision to send them to the stands effectively confirms the Bianconeri are pushing for their exit.

Weah’s representative reacted to the club’s decision in a statement released to Fabrizio Romano.

“Weah is a fantastic player and a fantastic teammate. To see people acting like this for money and because they are selfish disappointed me a lot. This is a shame,” said Weah’s agent.

“Anyway, until I’m here, nobody will push one of the players I advise to go on the right or on the left like a marionette. I am happy that Timo has a top education and a top personality to stay focused on the game.”

Mbangula, on the other hand, made his senior Juventus debut in the opening Serie A match of the 2024-25 campaign under Thiago Motta in August 2024, scoring a goal against Cesc Fabregas’ Como.

The 21-year-old has four goals and five assists in 32 games across all competitions this term, but hasn’t yet featured at the Club World Cup.
