Furious Liverpool fan launches hunt for fellow supporters who wrecked his van by dancing on its roof – and posing for selfies – at Premier League party

A furious Liverpool supporter appealed for help after his van was wrecked by fellow fans celebrating the club’s Premier League title.

Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions for the 20th time after securing a 5-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

Jubilant supporters had packed the streets of Anfield following Arne Slot‘s side clinching the record-equalling English league title.

In the aftermath of the celebrations, Liverpool supporter Tony Saunderson shared extensive damage of his van, which had been parked close to the stadium.

Images posted by Saunderson showed his van, which carries a number plate in honour of the club, with severe dents in the roof.

A number of Liverpool supporters were seen in photos and videos on social media, posing for selfies and dancing on the roof of the van, amid the celebrations.

A video showed supporters climbing off the damaged van, with one eyewitness branding them as ‘hooligans’

‘Ok people really need all of you to help find these horrible b*******s who danced on the roof of my van today in the petrol station car park facing the Sandon while I was at the game, Saunderson wrote on social media.

‘Full on video there so someone must know them. Thank you.’

Several replies hit out at those involved in the incident, labelling the damage as ‘shocking’ and ‘Absolutely disrespectful’.

‘Why do people behave like this! Entitlement that they can do whatever they want with without consequences,’ one reply read.

‘Shocking, no need for this vandalism,’ another added.

‘Absolutely disrespectful, I hope you find these bunch of idiots and make them pay for the damages,’ a third wrote.

Footage on social media had shown several celebrating Liverpool supporters climbing off the roof of the van.

One local, who recorded the video, branded the fans as ‘hooligans’.

Saunderson’s son called for one fan, allegedly involved in the damage, to start paying for the roof

‘Poor man, the state of his van. Absolutely disgusting. Hooligans,’ the eyewitness wrote.

Photos also showed numerous supporters both standing and sitting on the roof of the van.

In a post on social media, one of those allegedly involved in the damage, was urged to start paying for the damage caused to the vehicle by Saunderson’s son Jamie.

‘Hope you all had a great day but you have ruined my dad’s day by jumping all over the car,’ Jamie wrote.

‘I suggest you private message and start by paying for the roof you have damaged.’

Thousands of Liverpool fans had celebrated the club’s success outside Anfield on Sunday.

Supporters scaled the railings by the Kop, waved scarves from rooftops and even clambered onto a passing Greggs van to get the best view of the red sea stretching down Anfield Road.

In some places, clouds of red smoke prevented supporters from seeing further than just a few metres in front of them.

Liverpool will lift the Premier League trophy after their final game of the season when they host Crystal Palace on May 25. 

The day after, an open top bus parade is expected to follow these celebrations, marking the end of Liverpool fans’ 35-year wait to celebrate a league title in person.

Their side last lifted the trophy behind closed doors when Klopp led Liverpool to Premier League glory in 2019-20, a season plagued by COVID-19 regulations.

With four games to go until the end of the current campaign, Liverpool become the third-earliest champions in Premier League history. Klopp’s side still hold the record from when they won with seven to spare in 2020.
