Galatasaray have recently opened up to paying the full €75m release clause in Victor Osimhen’s Napoli contract, but they still need to provide guarantees to convince the Partenopei into selling.
Galatasaray have been pushing to sign Osimhen on a permanent basis following an overwhelmingly successful loan spell in Istanbul during the 2024-25 season.
In the last few hours, Galatasaray vice-President Abdullah Kavukçu has been in Italy to discuss the move further, and as a result, the club have decided to move forwards by paying the full €75m release clause in the player’s contract.
What Galatasaray now need to convince Napoli into selling Osimhen

However, Napoli still need guarantees before they sign off on a sale to Galatasaray.
Specifically, Napoli are unwilling to accept any deferrals on payment. Napoli have since asked the intermediary involved in the deal that Galatasaray presents surety bonds to guarantee payment in full.
So, still, despite their agreement to pay the release clause, Galatasaray still need to convince Napoli with an appropriate payment plan.
