The Overlap will host a first of its kind live watch-a-long of two Premier League games this week.

The popular football channel has enjoyed success over recent times with several exclusive interviews, fan debates and its flagship Stick to Football podcast.

And now, the channel has announced its plans for the festive season, with these kicking off on Wednesday.

Stick to Football panelists Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane and Ian Wright are set to watch Newcastle vs Liverpool and Arsenal vs Manchester United from the podcast’s studio in a live watch-a-long.

This will be broadcast on The Overlap’s YouTube channel, with proceedings getting underway at 7.30PM when the Reds’ trip to Newcastle starts.

Arsenal’s clash against Ruben Amorim‘s side kicks off at the slightly later time of 8.15PM, but it promises to be a fascinating watch nonetheless with Keane and Neville legends at United, while Wright holds a similar status among Gunners supporters.

The quartet – which also includes Carragher – played more than 1,400 times in the Premier League and they will be reacting to the key talking points of both games and interacting with fans watching the stream.

Speaking after plans for the watch-a-long were released, Neville said: ‘All the group sitting down with Ian Wright to watch Arsenal vs Manchester United live on The Overlap YouTube channel is going to be a special moment.

‘It’s not every day you get to relive one of football’s greatest rivalries with someone who knows it just as well as you do.’

However, Wright, who scored 185 times in 288 games for the Gunners between 1991 and 1998, admitted that although he was looking forward to the opportunity, there was some trepidation at watching the game with those of a United persuasion.

He added: ‘I don’t know how I feel about sitting with Gary and Roy to watch Arsenal take on Manchester United to be honest. I can already feel the pressure!

‘The rivalry between our clubs is intense plus Roy always has it in for Arsenal, so he’ll have a lot to say.’

United head into the game fresh off a 4-0 victory against Everton in what was Ruben Amorim’s first Premier League match at Old Trafford since replacing Erik ten Hag last month.

That victory took them within four points off the top four and the trip to the Emirates promises to be the first major test for the Portuguese.

But, the Red Devils will be up against it, with Arsenal having thrashed West Ham 5-2 on Saturday, and Mikel Arteta’s side are viewed as the most likely challengers to Liverpool in the title race this season.

Meanwhile, The Overlap similarly announced plans for a special Christmas quiz that will be released on YouTube on Boxing Day.

Neville is set to team up with his former United team-mates Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes, and the trio will face Roy Keane, Jill Scott and Ian Wright.

Comedian Michael McIntyre is on hosting duties, while world darts champion Luke Humphries, who is a Leeds United fan, is also expected to make a special guest appearance during the show.

Watch all the Christmas content on the Overlap YouTube channel, brought to you by Sky Bet.
