Gian Piero Gasperini urges Roma fans to ‘keep dreaming’ of the Scudetto as they sit on top of the Serie A table. ‘We have to enjoy the moment.’

The Giallorossi jumped to the joint leadership spot alongside Inter, as both teams have eight wins and three defeats in the league so far this season.

These are better results than they had anticipated under a new coach and with big changes, so can they dare to dream?

“Everyone is free to keep dreaming,” the coach told TG1.

“We can only hope that when they wake up, it is a pleasant sight, but meanwhile we have to enjoy the moment.”

Gasperini won’t quash Roma enthusiasm

Roma had come very close to snatching fourth place off Juventus last term under Claudio Ranieri, so that had been the aim for this season too.

However, Gasperini won’t stop the supporters from raising the bar even higher if the results back them up.

“The players show with their attitude and behaviour that they believe in themselves in every game. We are just at the start of the journey.

“When you are able to have a beautiful dream, that is already a good start.”

Serie A returns from international duty next weekend and Roma visit Cremonese, then after the Europa League test with Midtjylland, they host reigning Champions of Italy Napoli, before a trip to Cagliari.
