Friday’s reports confirm that new CT Gennaro Gattuso will be in attendance to watch the Italy U21 squad take on Germany in their U21 European Championship quarter-final coming up this weekend. Here is a reminder of every Azzurrini player who will be involved.
Sky Sport Italia confirm that Gattuso will be in attendance in Slovakia for Italy’s quarter-final against Germany at the U21 Euros.
Coincidentally, Gattuso was also part of the triumphant Italy U21 squad in the year 2000, playing every match of qualification and at the final tournament on the way to victory.

Gattuso, along with Simone Perotta and Andrea Pirlo, who scored twice in the 2000 U21 Euros final, went on to represent the senior Italy side at the 2006 World Cup six years later.
The current crop of Italy U21 players must first beat Germany in their quarter-final before progressing. The winner of that game will then go on to face either Denmark or France in the semi-final, and then one of England, Spain, Portugal or the Netherlands in the final.
Italy’s match against Germany is scheduled to begin at 20.00 BST on Sunday, June 22.
