An injury has led to a slight rejigging in the German National Team setup ahead of their UEFA Nations League fixtures.
Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann has been dealt a slight blow ahead of the upcoming international window with Angelo Stiller’s injury.
The VfB Stuttgart midfielder played through pain on Saturday as he helped his side lift the DfB-Pokal against Arminia Bielefeld.
A ligament injury, which he originally sustained in a 4-0 win over FC Augsburg, never fully healed and has curtailed his time representing the national team.
Replacing the 24-year-old is FSV Mainz marksman Jonathan Burkardt, who netted 18 goals in the last Bundesliga campaign.
Nagelsmann and Germany take on Portugal at 9pm (CET) on Wednesday, 4 June for a place in the UEFA Nations League final.
