Germany U17 qualified for the Round 2 League A in the qualification campaign for Euro 2026. In a group of three teams, André Pawlak’s team scored four goals each against Luxembourg (4-0) and Poland (4-1).
Borussia Dortmund’s duo Ahmad Najdi and Marwan-Omir Mirza scored half of Germany’s goals. André Pawlak took charge of the team following the summer’s competition, and these were his first competitive fixtures.
Both games were played in Luxembourg as UEFA assigned hosts for all 14 groups. The 28 teams qualified from Round 1 will be seeded in seven groups, with only the seven winners joining hosts Estonia for next summer’s tournament.
Lennart Karl was the top-scorer of the qualifiers when Germany progressed to the 2025 edition, but the mercurial winger and fellow Bayern rising star Wisdom Mike were unable to send them out of the group stage in Albania. Germany U17 will play to defend their world champion title next month in Qatar.
In the first-ever 48 teams competition, Germany are seeded in Group G alongside Colombia, North Korea, and El Salvador. FIFA also decided to make the tournament an annual event.
