With Manuel Neuer having retired from international duty and Marc-André ter Stegen sidelined with a long-term injury, Hoffenheim’s Oliver Baumann and Stuttgart’s Alexander Nübel are battling it out for the starting berth between the sticks for Germany.

In October, Nagelsmann opted to give each of them one start in goal, and subsequently said he felt Baumann was “a bit” ahead of Nübel this season.

Nevertheless, he’s apparently planning on splitting the playing time between them again in Germany’s upcoming UEFA Nations League games.

That’s according to Bild, who reports that Baumann will be in goal against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday, with Nübel set to play against Hungary three days later.

Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega will be on the bench after being called up for the first time.
