Roma director Florent Ghisolfi assures Mile Svilar will sign a new contract because ‘he is our future,’ while they face Atalanta with ‘positive pressure.’

It kicks off at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT, 20.45 CET).

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from this game and Venezia vs. Fiorentina on the Liveblog.

As ever, the first question for Ghisolfi was about the choice of a new coach, especially after the Friedkin family arrived in the Capital last week.

“It is a pleasure to have them at Trigoria, we talked about everything, the project and the coach, the organisation that we want to create with consistency,” Ghisolfi told DAZN.

“We are fortunate to have owners who are discreet, but sharp, which is not easy in football.”

The season is already over for Lorenzo Pellegrini, who picked up a muscular problem in training, and Paulo Dybala.

The Giallorossi have a huge opportunity here to leapfrog both Lazio and Juventus and go clear into fourth place, but also move to within only two points of Atalanta in third.

“This is a vibrant, important match. We are not hiding, but this is a positive pressure. When you went through the storm the way we have, that has to be the case.

“We are still hungry, we’ve got to do better also for the fans who couldn’t be here this evening.”

That is because Roma supporters were given a travel ban for one away match following the clashes with Lazio fans ahead of the Derby della Capitale.

There were reports today that goalkeeper Mile Svilar is in advanced negotiations to sign a new contract, although he has many different proposals including from Milan and the Premier League.

“We are talking to his agent, but are in no rush, because his contract runs to 2027. We have no hurry, but we will find a solution, because he is our future and deserves this new deal,” concluded Ghisolfi.
