Gimenez fails to justify 32m AC Milan price tag as Serie A goal drought continues

Santiago Gimenez has not scored in a Serie A game since May and has only netted once in 10 appearances across all competitions this season.

Mexico international Gimenez is struggling to match his €32m price tag at Milan, having only netted seven times in 29 appearances across all competitions since joining the Rossoneri in the January transfer window.

Gimenez has only scored one goal in 2025-26

The 24-year-old has only scored one goal in 10 appearances this term, in a 3-0 Coppa Italia win over Lecce in September.

Gimenez is still without goals in Serie A this season despite starting in seven league games out of ten.

Gimenez didn’t want Milan exit this summer

The former Feyenoord star was regarded as one of the most ruthless strikers in Europe when he moved to San Siro in the 2025 winter transfer window, but he’s been unable to prove it at Milan, at least for now.

Milan considered a swap deal with Roma’s Artem Dovbyk during the summer transfer window, but Gimenez was reluctant to leave San Siro.
