After Alassane Pléa’s departure and an impending loan deal for Tomáš Čvančara, Borussia Mönchengladbach are ready to finalize their first signing for the attacking department.

Borussia Mönchengladbach are closing on a deal to sign Haris Tabakovic from TSG Hoffenheim, according to Sky. The Bosnian striker is even expected to complete his medical today for an initial loan deal from the club that spend €3 million for his signing last year.

The 31-year-old joined Hoffenheim after finishing top-scorer in 2. Bundesliga despite Hertha Berlin’s mediocre season in 2023/24. The Swiss-born player is now ready for his fourth transfer in as many years.

Gladbach bid farewell to long-serving attacker Alassane Pléa as he joined PSV, while Tomáš Čvančara is expected to leave for Antalyaspor on a loan deal. Meanwhile, Germany international Tim Kleindienst will miss the opening matches of the season with an injury.

Earlier in the window, Roland Virkus completed the deal for the arrival of Jens Castrop and Kevin Diks. Tabakovic only scored three goals in his first Bundesliga season as he only played for fewer than 1,000 minutes in Hoffenheim’s relegation battle.
