Guendouzi waves emotional goodbye to Lazio fans ahead of €30m Fenerbahce move

Matteo Guendouzi waved goodbye to Lazio fans at the Stadio Olimpico after the 2-2 draw with Fiorentina, as he is heading to Fenerbahce for €30m.

The midfielder was in the starting XI for tonight’s Serie A match, which is widely believed was his final appearance in the Biancocelesti jersey.

At the final whistle of a chaotic 2-2 draw, Guendouzi took time on his own to walk around the pitch and salute the fans with kisses and visible emotion.

The clubs have reached an agreement for the sale for €28m plus a further €2m in add-ons, an increase from the opening bid that was closer to €27m including bonuses.

According to multiple sources, he should fly out tomorrow morning and land in Istanbul at circa 13.30 local time on Thursday.

Lazio had hoped to keep hold of him until after this weekend’s game, but it was decided to let him go now.
