After suffering an injury in training, Hamburg have confirmed that backup goalkeeper Matheo Raab will be out for several months.
Making three appearances in the 2. Bundesliga this campaign, 25-year-old German Matheo Raab will be unavailable for selection across the coming months.
In a statement on the club’s official X/Twitter account, it was announced that “Raab has broken the carpal bone of his right hand and will have to undergo surgery.”
“Our goalkeeper will be out for several months and will not be available to the team, at least not on the pitch.”
With the promotion race heating up in Germany’s second division, HSV currently sit 7th, three points away from pacesetters Paderborn.
The club’s active search for a new manager also continues, with Merlin Polzin in a caretaker role after Steffen Baumgart was relieved of his duties in late November.
