HSV have bolstered their defensive ranks with an experienced name.

Hamburger SV has strengthened its squad with the signing of Jordan Torunarigha from Belgian first division club KAA Gent.

It has proved to be a savvy bit of business from the newly promoted Hanseatic club as they capture the centre-half on a free transfer.

The Berlin native, who trained in the Hertha BSC youth system and became a Bundesliga professional, completed his medical and signed today.

In total, the 27-year-old made a whopping 73 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha Berlin before he left the capital club in 2022.

“I know the Bundesliga and I’m very happy to return to this special league again – especially with a club steeped in tradition like HSV,” Torunarigha said.
