Hansa Rostock slapped with reduced seating after vandalising Aachen’s Tivoli Stadion

A decision made between Rostock and their next away game opponents, Rot-Weiss Essen, has been agreed after last Sunday’s antics.

The bosses at 3.Liga side Hansa Rostock have taken action following last Sunday’s destruction caused by their own fans in Alemannia Aachen’s stadium.

With their next away game to Rot-Weiss Essen on April 6, Rostock is restricting the sale of tickets for their travelling fans. 

Only 1,900 tickets will be made available, all of which are standing, while Block G2’s seating area will remain empty and unused. 

If the Rot-Weiss Essen versus Rostock game is sold out, there will be 600 fewer spectators in attendance as a result of the call to shut Block G2.

The decision comes after the 2-1 weekend defeat to Aachen, where Rostock fans ripped out and smashed around 700 plastic seats in the Tivoli Stadion. 

Furthermore, sanitary facilities were also extensively vandalised equating up to €50,000 worth of damage caused.

Hansa’s supervisory chairman Sebastian Eggert was equally disappointed stating it “pisses me off that we are dealing with issues like destroyed toilet facilities every week”.
