Harry Kane has promised there is more to come from England under Thomas Tuchel after the German made it two wins from two at Wembley to kick off his reign as boss.
England overcame Latvia 3-0 on Monday night to follow-up Friday’s 2-0 victory over Albania and give Tuchel the perfect start in England’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
Skipper Kane scored a goal in both games — his 70th and 71st for England — but England were criticised in both games for their lack of penetration against modest opposition.
Against Latvia, England were indebted to a brilliant free-kick from Reece James to give them a 1-0 half-time lead before strikes from Kane and Eberechi Eze added gloss to the scoreline.
Tuchel himself, conceded that England flattered to deceive in attack and told ITV: ‘We needed a free-kick to unlock it. I’m happy with the attitude, energy and desire. We will get there.’
Kane insists that England took a step forward from the win over Albania, believes the team are already improving under Tuchel’s tutelage and praised Declan Rice for providing the assist for his goal.

It’s the perfect start to life as England boss for Thomas Tuchel as he enjoys his second win

Eberechi Eze comes off the bench to fire in England’s third and add some gloss to the scoreline
‘We were better than Friday,’ Kane told ITV.
‘There were more patterns of play and chances. But it is tough playing against 11 behind the ball and they try to make it difficult and we have to use the wide players.
‘The guys coming off the bench I thought made a good impact and we can be pleased with two wins and two clean sheets as well.
‘Dec [Rice] thought he could make a difference with that run and he did and he put a great ball into the box.”’
The skipper, who has scored 17 goals in his last 17 international appearances for England at Wembley was also gushing in his praise for Tuchel under whom he played at Bayern Munich and promised further improvements.
‘He’s fantastic,’ said Kane.
‘He has settled in straight away and it’s a real pleasure to have him as the coach. The energy he has brought, the passion and tactical analysis he has brought in every game has been top drawer.
‘It’s the first camp and we know we’ll get better as we go but I think he’s pleased and we’re pleased to have him.’
