It’s not too late for Timo Werner to make an impact at RB Leipzig, underlines head coach Ole Werner.

After returning from a loan spell at Tottenham in the summer, it was widely reported that Timo Werner no longer had a future at RB Leipzig.
However, when the transfer window closed, Werner was still at the club, and he made his first Bundesliga appearance in nearly two years as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Wolfsburg in September.
Speaking to Sport Bild, RB Leipzig coach Ole Werner acknowledged the challenges the 29-year-old striker faces, but stressed that Werner can still change his fortunes through his own performances.
“The fact is, we’ve brought in players for the positions Timo can play, players who are meant to be faces of the future. He certainly has a backlog because he played little in pre-season and the second half of last season. Nevertheless, he can change his role through strong performances,” Werner said.
He also highlighted Werner’s positive influence on the squad, despite limited game time.
“I don’t want to judge anyone from afar. Now I experience him as a very pleasant person. I feel he’s respected by his teammates. He gives tips, supports them on the pitch, and contributes to the team’s good atmosphere.”
