HERE WE GO!: Fabrizio Romano CONFIRMS Chelsea Garnacho transfer from Man Utd

Fabrizio Romano has given the ‘here we go’ for Alejandro Garnacho’s move from Manchester United to Chelsea after a summer of intense speculation.

Garnacho was told at the end of last season that he would never play for manager Ruben Amorim again and the 21-year-old has been seeking an exit ever since, having trained away from the first team squad during the summer.

The winger had been holding out for a transfer to Chelsea, having fielded interest from the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli and, after weeks of negotiations, a deal has finally been struck.

Romano has confirmed a deal of £40 million (€46.2m) between Chelsea and United, with Garnacho agreeing a contract with the Blues until 2032 ahead of a medical on Friday.

The deal progressed after Chelsea agreed to sell Christopher Nkunku to Milan, paving the way for Garnacho to seal his switch to Stamford Bridge.

United are also believed to have achieved a 10% sell-on clause in the deal, according to Ben Jacobs, having lowered their asking price from £50m.

Man Utd expecting busy end to summer window

The deal marks United’s the fourth-highest fee received by the club as well as their first permanent sale of the summer in a major breakthrough for Amorim’s men.

United have pushed to sell the likes of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia this summer but their only significant departure has been the loan move of Marcus Rashford to Barcelona.

Further sales are expected to be made before Monday’s transfer deadline, with Rasmus Hojlund likely to join Napoli along with the exits of Antony and Sancho.

Kobbie Mainoo could also leave Old Trafford amid fresh interest in the youngster as Amorim looks to accumulate resources to make more signings before the end of the month.

Chelsea, meanwhile, could miss out on Xavi Simons to Tottenham after Garnacho’s arrival, although much could depend on the future of Nicolas Jackson, who is in talks with Bayern Munich.
