Heung-min Son only found out he was saying teammate Micky van de Ven’s name wrong after being corrected by a reporter.
The 31-year-old was talking to a journalist after his side’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the north London derby on Sunday.
Whilst being interrupted by someone off-camera during the broadcast, the South Korea international pointed out he was talking about Van de Ven.
Son said: “We’re talking about Micky van de Ve.”
The reporter then replied: “Yeah, how do you pronounce him? How do you pronounce him?”
“Micky van de Ve,” Son stated, before he was then corrected.
“Micky van de Ven we say, with an N,” said the reporter.
Son then added: “Van de ven, wow.”
The Dutchman arrived at Spurs from Wolfsburg in the summer in a £43million deal.
Since joining Ange Postecoglou’s side, he has made six appearances in the Premier League and one in the Carabao Cup.
Cristian Romero put through his own net to give Arsenal the lead in the derby, before Son equalised before half-time.
Bukayo Saka then put the Gunners back in front, before the South Korean star equalised a minute later, firing past David Raya as the points were shared.
