A pair of former Bundesliga defenders seem to be running out of time at Real Madrid – one has been linked with a return to the German topflight.

According to Spanish portal Fichajes, TSG Hoffenheim is considering bringing the David Alaba back to the Bundesliga.
Alaba had already played for the Kraichgau club as a loan player in the spring of 2011 before making his mark at Bayern Munich.
The 33-year-old’s contract with Spanish top club Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2026 and an extension seems unlikely.
Alaba has barely played in Madrid recently – this season he’s only played ten minutes in La Liga and once in the Champions League.
This has fueled speculation about a possible Bundesliga comeback, however financial costs could rule out the Sinsheim club getting the Austrian.
Elsewhere, fellow Real Madrid and German international Antonio Rüdiger looks to be heading for the exit door in the Spanish capital.
Persistent thigh problems will rule him out until November and Sport BILD are already speculating that he will leave Madrid in summer.
Other reports support this argument, with another Spanish news outlet tipping Dayot Upamecano as his potential replacement.
