Thiago Motta is down his final chance at Juventus, and could potentially be dismissed after the upcoming Serie A match against Genoa after the international break according to reports over the last week, but the Bianconeri will have to shell out a considerable sum if they are to part ways with the coach in order to bring in Roberto Mancini.
Motta has overseen an underwhelming start to his tenure as Juventus head coach. The Old Lady were knocked out of the Champions League and Coppa Italia by underdog opposition, risk missing out on a top four finish in Serie A, and have recently recorded humiliating 4-0 and 3-0 defeats against Atalanta and Fiorentina in their two most recent matches.

Recent reports claim that Motta will be sacked if Juve fall to another disappointing result against Genoa next weekend, but Saturday’s updates claim that he could be let after the Genoa match regardless.
A long list of potential coaches have been linked with a move to the Allianz Stadium. Mancini and Igor Tudor came out as the frontrunners in a race that also included the likes of Antonio Conte, Gian Piero Gasperini and Stefano Pioli.
Saturday’s reports indicate that Mancini is preferred to Tudor, especially given that he is now also prepared to sign off on a short-term contract in Turin.

How much sacking Thiago Motta will cost Juventus
It will be a costly affair if Juventus are to sack Motta in order to bring in Mancini.

Motta signed a three-year contract worth €5m per season in wages, not including the salaries earned by his coaching staff. There is also a break clause fee included in Motta’s contract, according to reports from Corriere dello Sport, however, that only becomes valid if Motta is sacked during his second season in charge.
All factors considered, sacking Motta and his coaching staff will set Juventus back by at least €15m before the end of the 2024-25 season, which will only increase if the Bianconeri delay their decision until next season.
The €15m sum does not include the salary or potential signing-on bonus that Mancini might be entitled to if he becomes the next head coach of the Old Lady.
