The 14-cap South Korean international is reportedly on his way to Ligue 1.
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg highlights that Hyun-Seok Hong is now close to joining FC Nantes.
The South Korean’s move will be a one-year loan with Mainz 05 receiving a loan fee of €300,000 for his services.
Nantes have also secured an option to buy worth at least €3.5million, making it a smart deal for both sides involved.
After making 104 competitive appearances for KAA Gent, Hong joined Die Nullfünfer in late August of Summer 2024.
He looked set to form a vital cog in Bo Henriksen’s side until Paul Nebel had a breakout season scoring 10 Bundesliga goals.
