Nevertheless, doubts persist regarding his role at the club, primarily after Giorgio Furlani was tasked with hiring a new sporting director for 2025-26.

Ibrahimovic had already interviewed some of the candidates, but Furlani was ultimately tasked with identifying the ideal candidate for the role.

Ibrahimovic is not formally a Milan director, but has contributed to making key decisions this term, including transfers and hiring coaches Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceiçao.

Ibrahimovic has been serving as a RedBird Advisor at Milan since December 2023.
