Inter’s press office were reportedly left frustrated after an error was made by a French outlet in the transcription of an interview with Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez.

Published error in Lautaro Martinez interview on Inter and Inzaghi

Lautaro recently spoke in-depth to France Football, addressing a number of topics including the 2025 Champions League final, the departure of Simone Inzaghi as Nerazzurri head coach and his nomination for the Ballon d’Or.

There was, however, an error in transcription when Lautaro was discussing the Champions League final defeat by Paris Saint-Germain and the subsequent departure of Inzaghi

Lautaro said: “The coach never told us he’d received an offer or that he was leaving. So we were far removed from all the rumours and focused on our objectives.”

However, in the original article published by France Football, the word ‘never’ had been accidentally omitted, effectively reversing the meaning of what Lautaro had actually said.

According to updates from Corriere dello Sport, the error caused frustration among the Nerazzurri camp, and the club’s press office reportedly urged for a published correction.

Lautaro himself also reportedly requested that the quote be amended.
