Inter defender Benjamin Pavard partially trained with the team this morning, while Lautaro Martinez is racing against the clock as he continues to work separately.
Inter returned to training this morning, only a few hours after a 1-0 win over Hellas Verona on Saturday night.
Sky Sport Italia and FC Inter1908 provide the latest updates on the Nerazzurri, mainly focusing on the injured Pavard and Lautaro Martinez.
Pavard partially trained with the group today. He still has an ankle problem, and the Nerazzurri doctors will assess his reactions to today’s training in the coming hours.
Sky Sport correspondent Matteo Barzaghi says on X that tomorrow’s training session will be decisive. The journalist added on live TV that Pavard could start if he’s considered fit on Monday.
On the other hand, Lautaro trained separately and is racing against the clock to be available against Barcelona.
The Argentine sustained a flexor muscle injury during Wednesday’s match against Barcelona. His recovery remains difficult, but the Nerazzurri captain will try to make it at least for the bench if he has a chance.
What Inter said about Lautaro’s injury
“It is true that it’s not a lesion, so there is a little hope, but at the moment it’s more no than yes. He hasn’t trained, we’ll try everything, of course, because it is a fundamental match, but it’s more no than yes right now, unfortunately,” Inzaghi’s assistant coach Massimiliano Farris said on Saturday.
“We saw Bayern pressed us non-stop at San Siro for 90 minutes, whereas in the first leg Barcelona gave the impression they were losing some steam in the second half. They try to defend practically in the centre-circle, so if the shape gets a little less tight, then we can take advantage of that.
“This very high line is their approach for the last 52 odd games, it’s possible they could try something else at San Siro, but if they do then it would make the pressing a little less asphyxiating and we could have more of the ball. A lot will depend on how much we manage to keep the ball.”
