Inter Milan poised to make bid for Chelsea forward

Inter Milan have been in contact with Chelsea with regard to a summer transfer swoop for Christopher Nkunku. The player has been informed that he is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, as the 27-year-old seeks to get his career back on track elsewhere. The Blues are holding out for a 50 million euro transfer fee.

Since Nkunku’s arrival from RB Leipzig in 2023, he has scored just six Premier League goals in 38 games and the French international now looks set to make a move. Bayern Munich had been credited last night with an interest in the former PSG player, but it is understood that Inter Milan are leading the way to sign the player, capped 14 times by his country.

Nkunku arrived at Chelsea in a deal worth around £53.5 million on a six-year deal, but has not lived up to expectations, leaving Enzo Maresca no choice but to let the striker leave. Joao Pedro is the Blues’ preferred striking option this season, having arrived from Brighton and Hove Albion in a £60 million deal.
