Inter say Matteo Darmian has suffered a muscular strain in his right thigh and will be re-evaluated next week.

The Italy international was forced off the pitch during the first half of a Coppa Italia quarter-final tie against Lazio on Tuesday.

“Matteo Darmian underwent medical tests this morning at l’Istituto Clinico Humanitas di Rozzano,” Inter said in a statement on Thursday.

“The exams revealed a muscular strain in the semimembranosus of the right thigh. His situation will be re-evaluated next week.”

Sky Sport Italia says Darmian will miss all Inter games before the international break in March.

The Nerazzurri will visit Napoli at the Stadio Maradona on Saturday, and even if Simone Inzaghi must deal with a selection crisis on the wings, Marcus Thuram will likely return to the starting XI against the Partenopei.
