Inter forward Marcus Thuram is intensifying his recovery efforts to be fit for the crucial Serie A match against Napoli on Saturday after a recent injury.

Despite being granted a rest day following his side’s narrow victory over Genoa, the striker carried out a personalised training session to address his lingering left ankle issues.

Thuram’s problems started when he was forced off in the first half of the Nerazzurri’s home clash against Fiorentina after suffering an ankle bruise.

While Inter ruled out major injuries, the 27-year-old was forced to train separately for a few days and could only come on as a second-half substitute against Juventus before being ruled out again for the following clash against Genoa.

However, FcInter1908 reported that Thuram engaged in a personalised training session during what was supposed to be a rest day for the team, as he is working on his condition in order to be fully fit for the Nerazzurri’s season-defining clash at the Stadio Diego Maradona.

The France international is Inter’s leading goalscorer in Serie A with 13 goals from 25 games, but he’s only netted once in the last nine league appearances.
