Inter striker Marcus Thuram is expected to miss several weeks of action with an injury to his left hamstring, despite telling supporters that there was nothing to worry about on Tuesday evening.

Thuram was in the starting line-up as Inter picked up a routine 3-0 victory over underdogs Slavia Prague in the Champions League league phase on Tuesday evening.

He was, however, taken off in a quadruple change immediately after Lautaro Martinez had put them 3-0 ahead in the second half. The Frenchman was later seen limping around San Siro and was asked about his condition during his post-match interview.

“I think it’s a small thing, nothing serious,” Thuram told Sky Sport Italia after full-time on Tuesday night.

According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Thuram will be ruled out of the upcoming Serie A match between the Nerazzurri and Cremonese. He will also be unavailable to Didier Deschamps and the France national team for the upcoming October break.

La Gazzetta predicts that Thuram will also have to sit out of the club’s Serie A clash against Roma after the break and the Champions League game against Union Saint-Gilloise on October 21. It remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to play against Napoli towards the end of the month.
